I can recall playing "Lindsey" on Super Smash Bros back when I was a kid. I was suddenly reminded of her while watching my sister play "Hyrule Warriors", a game I'd picked up for her for Christmas. See, waaaay back when she and I played "Four Swords", we imagined each Link being their own character. My favorite was Red Link, whom I had later turned into "Lindsey", my fan-interpretation of the 'clone'. (I don't remember exactly what we'd named the Blue and Purple Links, but Purple was also a female.) We had also decided back then that each Link should have their own unique power. Since I'm in love with the power of Transformation, that's what I decided Lindsey should specialize in.

...But it's been years since we last touched the game...and after witnessing a little of "Hyrule Warriors", I decided to update "Lindsey" and her back-story. So, here we go.

--Lindsey was, in fact, one of the three clones spawned when Link drew the Four Sword. Nicknamed "Red" at the time, she followed Link's commands while secretly delving into thoughts and questions revolving around who she was, since she didn't have any memories of a life before her "birth". By the time Link was due to return the Four Sword, Lindsey explained that she didn't wish for her life to end so soon, as she believed she could do good in lands beyond Hyrule. That spoken, the other clones agreed; they, too, wished to live a lasting life. Understanding his clones' desires, Link sought out the aid of the land's Great Fairy. With her assistance, Link was able to return the Four Sword without terminating his clones' existence. It was then each was given their own individual soul, and with that, each decided to give themselves their own name. Red Link then became "Lindsey".

However, in exchange for giving the clones lasting life, the Great Fairy requested they depart the lands of Hyrule, and spread out across the world to find new continents of which to call "home". Hyrule could only have one Link, after all. In agreement, the three clones bid their farewells and dispersed, each on his or her own adventure to new lands.

Lindsey traveled across vast seas to finally settle on Erenvale, Land of Dragons. Still of "Four Swords" age, she at first found it hard to fit in with the native Draconians, humans with dragon characteristics. However, after coming to the aid of Vesryn, the Alpha Dragon, he granted her residence among the Draconians. Lindsey was told she'd be rewarded greatly if she were to track down and rescue the Alpha Dragon's daughter, Faelyn, from dragon poachers. Accepting the mission, Lindsey followed hints and clues to find humanoid monsters in the business of slaying dragons to steal and sell their Mana Stones. She challenged and defeated the poachers, saving Faelyn and many other young dragons from a tragic fate. Alongside being granted full "citizenship", Lindsey was also blessed with a magic insignia, which would allow her to transform into three different Elemental forms: Aquatic, Terrestrial, and Aerial. Each form would start out at its most basic. As Lindsey used each form's powers, she would strengthen that form, and even access higher-ranking forms through a process called "Evolution". (Kinda like Pokemon.)

Aquatic Form: Zora (Begins solely with claws, but when leveled up, develops blade fins and strength to swim even in violent currents.) However, because of adjustments to an aquatic environment, this form is rather sluggish on dry land.

Terrestrial Form: Werewolf (Begins as a simple Wolf, but when leveled up, grows into a mega wolf called a "Dire Wolf". Maxed out, the Dire Wolf becomes the Werewolf. Speed and Strength in battle is greatly enhanced.) However, because of the thick fur and its lacking of water-resistance, this form is slowed in aquatic conditions.

Aerial Form: Wyvern (Begins as a four-legged Dragonling with weak Wind-element attacks, but when leveled up, becomes a mid-rank Fledgling with novice-level elemental attacks. When the Fledgling is leveled up, it grows into a large Wyvern, and is master of both the Wind and Lightning elements. However, because of its large size, it's not the fastest form, and is more prone to enemy attacks, since it's unable to dodge.

After being gifted with the Basic forms, Lindsey returns to the Draconian Village to be greeted as a full resident. She is also questioned to be "adopted" by a single Draconian whom had neither a mate or a family of her own. Since this Draconian took up responsibility of tending to Lindsey whenever she needed the aid, Lindsey agrees to call the dragon lady "Mother", finally establishing roots of a home...and a family.

By the time the events of "Hyrule Warriors" take place, Lindsey is in her mid 20's, has mastered and leveled up all of her forms, and has come to know all of the Draconians by heart. It's only after she earns the title of "Draco Guardian" that she thinks back to Link and their "siblings", wondering how each has progressed since their last encounter.--

...That's at least as far as it has gotten. XD;; I had to make a few adjustments to Lindsey, since she can't have/be capable of everything Link has/can do. Instead of the Triforce, Lindsey gets the Insignia. Instead of the Master Sword, Lindsey gets a blade called "Dragon's Rage", a gemmed sword that can temporarily set its blade on fire. Lindsey doesn't get a horse, since her wolven forms can match that speed. Lindsey excels with the bow & arrows, but is lousy with the Ocarina---and any of its songs. Since her limit is maxed out in the transformation field, Lindsey can't use any mystical masks. Even if she DID wear one, it wouldn't activate for her, as it only would for Link. AND, because she is a clone of the legendary hero, and not the hero himself, she can't activate any Fairy Fountains or access zones reserved strictly for Link.

I'm hoping to play "Lindsey" in the next Smash Bros Game. Should bring back a lot of memories.

"Legend of Zelda" concepts and characters (c) Nintendo. "Lindsey" (c) me.

We named the other two Terra (purple) and Tiger (blue)
Yeah, such creative names we came up with as kids. xD *all the sarcasm, all of it*

They need new names if we want to develop them into more detailed characters than just Link clones. Going back to their original names, not sure if we should make Purple a guy or stay with childhood shenanigans and keep Purple female so Lindsey isn't the odd one out? Blue is of course a guy, and not a sleepy fellow. xD And yeah, their realms would have to be very different from Hyrule. Not sure just what yet, but I was thinking that one could be the realm of Twilight. Least stay within the real worlds of the game.
